Smoothie bowls are a great breakfast option and we love getting creative when it is time to make them. Today we are sharing with you a brand new recipe in our book. This Matcha Smoothie Bowl with Banana Milk is really tasty and different from anything you've had ever before.
Smoothie bowls are the most versatile food you could ever make. I'm always amazed how super easy it is to keep it interesting and fun. There are so many possibilities that you could really have a different smoothie bowl every day of the month!
It can get repetitive, though. That's why I try to come up with recipes like this matcha smoothie bowl. So you get some inspo and see the different ways you can use ingredients you already have handy.
I wanted this matcha smoothie bowl to be fresh and light but filling enough to get me through the morning. I had some bananas and persimmons at home and this matcha smoothie bowl was the perfect way to put them to good use.
To make the base of this match bowl we are simply mixing bananas with ice, water, matcha powder, and a bit of mint. This combination of flavours is very unique. I've had banana and matcha together many times. But adding mint to the blend adds a bit of freshness to our match smoothie.
Matcha is such a great ingredient to make smoothies. It can have a bit of a strong flavour for some people, but mixing it as we are doing in this recipe mellows down the bitter taste that can feel bit overpowering sometimes.
Also, matcha is what some would call a superfood. It is packed with antioxidants and all kinds of benefits that your body will later thank you for. Here are some of them:
You get the gist of it. And the fact that it improves mental alertness and boosts your energy is one of the big reasons why matcha is so popular. A lot of people have ditched their morning cup of coffee to replace it with either a matcha smoothie or a latte, or a simple tea.
Matcha contains caffeine which is what will give you that extra energy. But the effects are different from the ones you get from a regular cup of coffee. You will get the energy without the crash and it releases slowly into your body, so no spike!
The base of our matcha smoothie bowl is already great but we wanted to have something extra. Persimmon fruit, goji berries and sesame seeds are the perfect toppings for this recipe. You get more vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and a few bits and pieces to chew on.
Altogether, this delicious smoothie bowl is a great option for breakfast. You are fuelling your body with all the good stuff first thing in the morning!
