It is no secret to anyone that I am a HUGE smoothie fan. They are just so fun to make, easy, and taste incredible – what’s not to love?
This particular smoothie came together in a rather strange way. I was at home the other day, having one of those ‘pajama days’ (don’t judge, you know you have those days too!) and I was feeling a bit low on energy. I decided to make a smoothie, but didn’t have any ingredients for my favourite type of smoothies. So, I decided to throw what I did have into a blender and hope for the best because I really didn’t want to leave the house (that meant getting out of my pj’s).
Would you like to know what happened? Magic. My taste buds came to life and danced happily for the entire day. I felt full of energy and ready to tackle my 2 seasons binge watching marathon of my favourite tv series (it’s tough work you know!).
To make this smoothie, you are going to need 3 ingredients and only 5 minutes.
Not only does this smoothie give you a boost of energy and taste amazing, it’s also packed with essential vitamins and minerals we need to function on a day to day basis. These include vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and folate, just to name a few.
The addition of lemon to this smoothie makes it the perfect drink for first thing in the morning. Lemon has an alkalising effect on our bodies and helps our digestive system prepare for the day. I usually enjoy lemon in warm water first thing for this, but if I need something more filling, this is sure to be my go-to recipe now!
The dark grape, peach, and lemon smoothie is the perfect breakfast or snack because it’s:
Very low in fat – only 1g per serve.
Super easy to make!
Full of fresh, vibrant natural ingredients
Low in calories – only 174 cals per serve.
As with all of my other smoothies, I recommend consuming your smoothie soon after making it for the best taste. However, you may store it in an airtight container (a travel mug works great for this) in the fridge for a short amount of time.
And there you have it. I hope you enjoy my latest smoothie recipe. And if you try it, be sure to let us know!
