Chocolate hummus is one of the best things I have discovered… ever!
It happened one day, when curiosity got the better of me and I decided I wanted to know what would happen if I mixed a homemade hummus with chocolate. Because well, you know, chocolate taste good with just about anything! Okay, so that might not be entirely true, but it turned out to be incredible and tasted so good.
After this, I went deep down the rabbit whole and tried adding extra things on top to make it a dessert. Some things worked, others didn’t. Thankfully I can make all the mistakes and bring you only the best – and here it is!
You could enjoy this simply by itself without the toppings, but I personally like the extra flavor that the strawberries and almonds give it. The best part, and I do mean the BEST part, is this ‘light,’ healthy dessert is extremely family friendly. My 3 and a half year old little boy is still asking for it and I made it over 3 weeks ago. Now if that isn’t proof enough, I don’t know what is.
To make this recipe, you will need 7 ingredients and 15 minutes. You will also need a blender or food processor and a bowl to serve it in! Easy, no fuss dessert for all.
This recipe requires very few ingredients – most of which you probably have in your cupboard right now. I personally don’t like buying ingredients that I will only ever use once and I prefer to bring you recipes in this same manner.
In this dish, we have cacao powder, chickpeas, coconut milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, crushed almonds, and strawberries. Combined, these ingredients offer us a good source of protein, dietary fiber, vitamin C, copper, magnesium, and potassium.
The chocolate hummus with strawberries and almond recipe is the perfect dessert because it’s:
I highly doubt you will have any left overs. But in case you do, you can store it in an airtight container, in the fridge for up to 48 hours. You may also want to prepare some in advance for a party or simply to save time for after dinner to enjoy it. Just be sure to keep it out of reach from little (and big) kids searching the fridge for food. It’s irresistible.
I hope you are as enticed by this as I was. I hope to see you next time. Enjoy!
