Why Vegan?

For the animals

There are 56 billion animals killed every year for flesh, dairy and eggs. Most of them are kept in miserable conditions for their short life and killed when they are still babies, unless they are dairy cows which are repeatedly impregnated until they can't stand, constantly have their babies stolen and then get murdered when they are no longer useful.


For your health

Well planned plant-based diets are low in saturated fats, high in fibre and packed with anti-oxidants. This helps lower rates of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, cancer and many other illnesses. Factory farmed animals are constantly fed antibiotics which enter your body when you eat them and also help to create resistant forms of bacteria.


For the environment

The production of meat and animal products has a heavy environmental cost. Water, food, land, transportation. The beef industry is the single largest contributor to global warming. Animal agriculture is the major cause of deforestation. Every second an area of forest the size of a football pitch is cut down.


For people

A plant-based diet requires just one third of the land needed to support a meat and dairy diet. With rising food and water shortages due to environmental and population problems, there has never been a better time to adopt a more sustainable way of living.
